A bold and characterful Speyside single malt, this 2008 vintage Benromach was matured for around a decade in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks before being bottled in 2019 at a robust 57.9% ABV.
Released as part of a cask strength series replacing the 100 Proof expression, each batch offers its own subtle variation, showcasing the distillery’s rich, lightly smoky house style in a more intense and unfiltered form.
Expect layers of stewed apple, pear, and vanilla alongside red berries, candied peel, and milk chocolate, balanced by gentle smoky spice and a touch of herbal complexity. A powerful yet refined dram with a long, rich, and slightly salty finish.
