The Tomatin 12 Year Old 2008 Cognac Cask Finish marks the fourth and final release in the distillery’s French Collection. Distilled in 2008, this single malt follows the series’ exploration of French cask influence, after earlier finishes in Sauternes, Rivesaltes and Monbazillac casks. For this final expression, the whisky underwent a finishing period in Cognac casks, adding an extra layer of richness and complexity.
The influence of the Cognac wood brings vibrant notes of red fruit, toasted nuts and warming, festive spice, complementing Tomatin’s soft, fruity house style. A fitting conclusion to the collection, it offers a clear and engaging insight into how different French cask traditions can shape and enhance a classic Highland single malt.
