A rare Tasmanian single malt from Lark Distillery, independently bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd as part of their Summer 2021 release.
Founded in 1992 by Bill Lark, a pioneer of Australian craft distilling, Lark is renowned for its innovative approach to whisky-making. Independent bottlings are scarce, making this a particularly sought-after release.
Distilled in 2016, this whisky is a vatting of three 100-litre casks, married specifically for Berry Bros. & Rudd, and bottled in 2021 at a robust strength of just over 60% ABV.
The nose offers bright citrus fruits, followed by softer notes of peach and apricot, alongside hints of leather and tobacco. On the palate, flavours of vanilla and spice are complemented by layers of lychee, strawberry jam and jackfruit, reflecting the influence of Tasmania’s warmer climate. The finish is long and complex, with mature, musty fruit notes lingering.
