The 2022 release of Glenturret Peat Smoked is matured in a combination of American and European oak casks, with American oak taking the lead to deliver a rich vanilla sweetness balanced by warming spice. Sherry-seasoned American oak contributes notes of confectionery sweetness, while delicate refill casks allow the peat smoke to shine.
On the nose, aromas of sea salt and heather mingle with soft smoke and hints of vanilla. The palate brings citrus fruits, ginger and nutmeg, layered with sweet spice and a gentle coastal-style peat smoke that lingers throughout.
A well-balanced young whisky that combines sweet fruit character with hearty, lingering smoke.
