Glenrothes 23 Year Old 1997 (Cask16557) - Celebration of the Cask (Càrn Mòr)

This exceptional Glenrothes 23 Year Old was distilled in 1997 and bottled by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers as part of the prestigious Càrn Mòr Celebration of the Cask series. Matured for over two decades in a single sherry butt, this limited release showcases the rich, elegant character that has made Glenrothes one of Speyside's most respected distilleries.

Drawn from cask #16557, the whisky spent 23 years slowly developing layers of complexity before being bottled on 14th October 2020 at its natural cask strength of 58.0% ABV. The long maturation and quality sherry cask influence have created a wonderfully rich and rewarding dram.

The nose offers inviting aromas of citrus fruits, sticky honeycomb, and sweet oak. On the palate, silky chocolate, warming spice, and rich sherried sweetness unfold beautifully, leading to a lingering finish of fragrant citrus peel and gentle spice.

Bottled without compromise and presented as a single cask release, only 550 bottles were produced, making this a highly desirable bottling for collectors and lovers of mature sherried Speyside whisky.
