The Wolfburn Inaugural Release marks the first whisky produced by the modern Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, Caithness, the northernmost distillery on mainland Scotland. Distilling began on 25 January 2013 after the new distillery was built on the site of the historic Wolfburn Distillery. Crafted from the very first casks to leave the stills, this landmark release was matured for three years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, making it a significant milestone in the distillery's revival.
Limited to just 875 individually numbered and engraved bottles—with only 100 allocated to the UK market—this highly collectible release is presented in a beautifully crafted handmade oak presentation box. The whisky opens with delicate floral aromas, fresh fruits, sweet malt, and a gentle hint of peat. The palate develops with honeyed sweetness, nutty richness, soft spice, and subtle sherry influence before finishing with lingering smoke and elegant oak.
As the first official bottling from one of Scotland's newest distilleries, the Wolfburn Inaugural Release remains a prized collector's whisky and an important chapter in the distillery's modern history.
