Teaninich 2009 12 Year Old UK Exclusive No.5 – The Octave (Duncan Taylor) is a rare opportunity to explore the character of a Highland distillery whose single malts are seldom seen as standalone bottlings. Distilled in 2009 and matured for 12 years, this single cask expression was selected by independent bottler Duncan Taylor for its acclaimed The Octave series.

For the final six months of maturation, the whisky was transferred into a second-fill Oloroso sherry octave. These unusually small casks encourage greater interaction between spirit and oak, adding concentrated layers of rich sherry character while retaining Teaninich's naturally full-bodied style. The result combines dried fruits and sherried sweetness with warming spice, polished oak and a satisfyingly robust texture.

Bottled in 2022 at 55.4% ABV, this UK Exclusive No.5 yielded just 90 bottles, making it an exceptionally scarce example of independently bottled Teaninich.
