North British 18 Year Old 2003 is a richly flavoured single grain Scotch whisky, independently bottled by Douglas Laing as part of the acclaimed Old Particular series. Distilled in March 2003 at the North British Distillery in Edinburgh, this expression matured for 18 years in a single refill butt before being bottled in February 2022.
This limited release yielded just 183 bottles, offering a smooth and indulgent profile shaped by long maturation and careful cask selection. The whisky displays a fruity, syrupy character with impressive depth and balance.
On the nose, aromas of ripe banana, walnut, baking spice, and orange zest lead into a palate filled with golden syrup sponge, ginger, vanilla, caramelised apple, sugared almonds, and banoffee pie.
