Lochlea Red Wine Cask 2026

Lochlea Red Wine Cask is an annual limited-edition release showcasing the distillery’s evolving approach to red wine cask finishing. For this second release, Lochlea’s single estate whisky was initially matured in first-fill bourbon barrels before being finished in carefully selected Sangiovese wine casks, adding richness, sweetness, and depth to the spirit.

Crafted entirely from Lochlea’s own barley and distilled, matured, and bottled on-site in Ayrshire, this expression delivers a velvety profile with notes of honey, gentle spice, ripe red berries, and moreish nutty character. The wine cask influence enhances the distillery’s signature fruity style while adding a deeper and more expressive layer of complexity.
