An extraordinary showcase of mature Speyside whisky, the Glenrothes 1968 Extraordinary Cask #13507 is one of the rarest releases ever produced by the distillery. Part of the prestigious Extraordinary Single Cask Collection, this exceptional whisky was distilled on 19th November 1968 and matured for decades in a single refill hogshead before being bottled on 23rd May 2013 at its natural strength of 41.9% ABV.
Selected at precisely the right moment in its maturation, the whisky yielded just 145 bottles worldwide, making it an exceptionally scarce collector's piece. Although bottled in 2013, it was officially released in 2015 as part of Glenrothes' ultra-premium Extraordinary Cask series.
The whisky displays remarkable elegance and complexity, with aromas and flavours of rose petals, ripe apricots, honey, and Turkish Delight, layered with the refined character that only decades of maturation can provide. Rich yet delicate, it offers a beautifully balanced and memorable drinking experience.
Presentation is every bit as impressive as the whisky itself. Each bottle is housed in a hand-blown Portuguese lead crystal decanter, topped with a stopper crafted from wood taken from cask #13507, and presented in a luxurious leather carrying case.
