Distilled in 2008, this whisky was matured for 10 years in refill hogshead casks before being bottled at a robust 54.9% ABV. The refill cask allows the distillery’s character to shine through, highlighting Blair Athol’s rich and slightly smoky profile.
On the nose, aromas of fruitcake, clove and orange develop, followed by more earthy notes of bark and damp woodland. The palate is balanced and full-bodied, combining spice, gentle smoke and rich fruit, creating a complex and satisfying Highland dram.
