Released to celebrate Fèis Ìle 2018, Islay's renowned Festival of Malt and Music, Big Peat Fèis Ìle 2018 is a limited edition blended malt from Douglas Laing that captures the bold, smoky spirit of Scotland's whisky island. Bottled at 48% ABV, this sought-after release was produced in a limited run of just 500 cases and presented in a commemorative tube complete with a set of stickers for personalising the bottle.
True to Big Peat's unmistakable Islay style, the nose opens with dried seaweed, barbecued meats, and golden syrup. The palate delivers rich smoked barley, damp leather, soot, lemon peel, and maritime sea salt, before developing notes of streaky bacon, caramel, and charred oak. The finish is long, smoky, and wonderfully satisfying, with lingering coastal character.
