A.H. Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum is a special edition created in honour of the Nordic Industrial.
Aromas of honey, dried apricots, vanilla, caramel, ripe oranges and dark chocolate.
It contains a blend of rums aged between 7 and 21 years that are selected in casks. All the barrels were stored on the West Indies and North America. 2019 edition.
This rum has a medal, and not just any medal, a gold medal won at a competition held in 1888! The competition in question, called the "Nordiske Industri-Landbrugs" & Kunstudstilling, took place in Copenhagen, with the transition from a feudal town to a modern city.
It is the result of a Nordic, agricultural and artistic exhibition, which brought together the best of industry and agriculture from the 5 Nordic countries.
This rum has been produced in the St Thomas American Virgin Islands, formerly the Danish Isles.
History of the A.H Riise distillery:
Located on the island of St Thomas, a virgin American island in the Caribbean. The island used to belong to a Danish colony, but this is no longer the case as it now belongs to an American territory. It was in 1840 that pharmacist Albert Heinrich was given permission to open a pharmacy and produce alcohol.
