A rich and warming expression from The Lakes Distillery’s “The One” Whisky Collection, finished in rare Colheita Port casks.
“Colheita” (pronounced Col-yate-a) means “harvest” and refers to a single-vintage Tawny Port made from grapes of a single crop. The casks that previously held this distinctive Port were used to finish the whisky, imparting depth, fruit richness and gentle spice.
The blend combines The Lakes Distillery’s own single malt with carefully selected grain and malt whiskies from across Scotland, including the Highlands, Speyside and Islay. The Colheita cask finish adds layers of character while rounding out the blend.
On the nose, aromas of peach cobbler and plump apricots appear alongside a delicate hint of woody peat smoke. The palate reveals toasted cinnamon, nutmeg and soft vanilla, creating a smooth and warming finish.
