Deanston 2012 13 Year Old is a richly sherried Highland single malt, released as part of Alistair Walker’s Infrequent Flyers Batch 20 collection. Distilled in 2012, this single cask expression matured for 13 years, including an extended finishing period of around five years in a Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheon.
The PX puncheon imparts a concentrated and velvety richness to the whisky, enhancing Deanston’s naturally weighty spirit with layers of dark fruit and indulgent sweetness. Bottled at natural strength, and presented without chill filtration or added colouring, it delivers a full-bodied and authentic whisky experience.
On the palate, expect notes of Amarena cherries, mocha, and macerated raisins, balanced by warming spice and a deep, lingering sweetness. The PX finish adds impressive depth while retaining structure and balance.
A total of 348 bottles were released in 2025, making this a limited and highly characterful single cask bottling.
