Bowmore 22 Year Old 2000 is a rare and highly characterful Islay single malt, independently bottled by Duncan Taylor as part of the acclaimed Premium Octave range. Distilled in 2000 and matured for 22 years, this expression underwent a secondary finishing period in a small sherry octave cask, intensifying both richness and complexity.
The Octave series takes its name from the miniature casks used during finishing. At around 60 litres in size, octave casks create increased interaction between spirit and wood, delivering concentrated flavour and added depth in a short period of time.
Bottled at natural cask strength, this whisky reveals aromas of charcuterie, peat smoke, and vanilla on the nose, followed by layers of toffee, baking spice, and seaweed on the palate. The combination of Bowmore’s coastal peat character and octave cask influence creates a deeply expressive and balanced dram.
With just 78 bottles produced, this is an exceptionally limited and collectible release.
