Bowmore 1997 21 Year Old is a distinguished Islay single malt independently bottled by Douglas Laing as part of the prestigious Xtra Old Particular range. Distilled in July 1997 and matured for 21 years in a single refill hogshead, this exceptional whisky was bottled in August 2018 at its natural cask strength of 52% ABV.

Drawn exclusively from cask #12812, the whisky showcases Bowmore’s signature balance of coastal character and elegant peat smoke. The nose offers layers of brown sugar, sea salt, caramel, black pepper, and gentle smoke, while the palate develops notes of freshly baked brioche, orange peel, rich malt, honeycomb, and earthy peat.

Presented in Douglas Laing’s premium Xtra Old Particular format, each hand-filled bottle comes in a glass-stopper decanter with a luxurious wooden presentation case, highlighting the rarity of this long-aged release.

With only 323 bottles produced, this is a highly collectible expression and an excellent example of mature Bowmore from a single cask.
