This robust Highland malt does an uncanny impression of Ledaig; the nose offers fat smoky aromas of bacon, seaweed, some citrus and new leather, it’s remarkably coastal for a landlocked distillate. The palate continues this theme with powerful peat smoke developing into tobacco, some rich fruit, over ripe blood orange with a
distinctly coastal tang. A long finish brings some oak with a little spice mingling with the fading ashy smoke. A rugged Highlander that would make excellent company on a long hike through the Grampian mountains.
