Hand-selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie, this remarkable single cask has matured for 12 years in European oak butts which previously held a rich sweet wine produced in Montilla in Spain.
Kelsey noted that through maturation each cask developed a beautifully rich style of Balvenie akin to a sherry style Balvenie.
Montilla is a rich dessert wine produced in the Montilla region in Spain. similar in style to sherry but with its own unique regionality.
An exceptional whisky that balances an initial candied sweetness with rich vanilla oakiness, warm spice and dried fruits.
Each bottle is drawn from an exceptional single European oak butt of The Balvenie and will be individually labelled with cask details.
Nose: Delicate, crisp & refined with vibrant barley sugar revealing runny honey beautifully balanced with toasted oak.
Taste: Initial candied sweetness develops into rich vanilla oakiness with warming spice and dried apricots.
