Tamdhu 16 Year Old 2002 (Cask #6191) - Edinburgh Airport
Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout
Distilled in 2002, this exceptional 16-year-old Tamdhu was released exclusively for the Travel Retail market, specifically Edinburgh Airport, to celebrate the distillery's 120th anniversary. Matured entirely in a first-fill European oak sherry butt (Cask #6191) before being bottled in 2019, this single cask release showcases Tamdhu's renowned mastery of sherry cask maturation. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.1% ABV, with no chill filtration and natural colour, only 597 individually numbered bottles were produced.
Rich sherry oak influence defines the whisky, delivering generous layers of dried fruits, raisins, dark chocolate, orange peel, and warming baking spices, supported by notes of toasted oak, roasted nuts, and sweet vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, leading to a long, smooth finish with lingering sherried sweetness and gentle spice.
A rare and highly collectible single cask bottling, this anniversary release perfectly captures Tamdhu's signature rich Speyside style and exceptional dedication to sherry cask maturation.
