Introduced in 2016, Laphroaig Lore stands as one of the most revered expressions in the distillery’s modern range. Created by former Distillery Manager John Campbell, Lore is widely regarded as the richest and most complex whisky Laphroaig has ever produced, earning its place as a permanent fixture in the portfolio.

This distinctive single malt is a masterful composition of whiskies matured in quarter casks, first-fill sherry butts, and reused peated casks, each contributing a layer of depth and intensity. The result is a whisky that captures both the raw power and refined heritage of Islay’s most iconic distillery, paying homage to the time-honoured skills and hard-earned knowledge passed down through generations at Laphroaig.

On the nose and palate, Lore delivers a classically bold peat smoke, rich and enveloping, followed by dark sweetness and warming spice. Expect a peppery, chilli-like heat to emerge mid-palate, balanced by sherried richness and oak depth. The finish is long, sweet, and lingering, leaving behind echoes of smoke, spice, and subtle sweetness that reward slow contemplation.
