Laphroaig 9 Year Old 2011 – The Octave (Duncan Taylor) Cask 5628745 is a powerful single cask Islay malt, bottled at natural cask strength as part of Duncan Taylor’s acclaimed Octave series. After its initial maturation, the whisky was finished for five months in a small sherry octave cask, roughly a quarter the size of a standard cask, intensifying wood influence and accelerating flavour development.
Limited to just 78 bottles and bottled at 54.7% ABV, this rare release marries Laphroaig’s iconic medicinal peat smoke with rich nutty notes and dried fruit sweetness from the sherry finish, delivering a bold and deeply characterful dram.
