Isle of Raasay Hungarian Oak Limited Release

The Isle of Raasay Hungarian Oak Limited Release is the third installment in the distillery’s Oak Species Maturation Series, showcasing the influence of Hungarian oak sourced from the Zemplén Mountains region. Released in April 2026, this limited-edition whisky combines Isle of Raasay’s signature peated and unpeated spirits for a balanced and complex lightly peated profile.

Unlike previous releases in the series, this expression has been fully matured in ex-Oloroso sherry barriques crafted from Hungarian oak (Quercus petraea). The combination of sherry maturation and Hungarian oak softens the wood’s natural spice while enhancing the whisky with layers of dried fruit richness and depth.

Bottled at 50% ABV, this distinctive release delivers a harmonious balance of gentle smoke, warming spice, and sherried sweetness. With only 8,000 bottles available worldwide, it is a highly limited and collectible expression.
