Glen Garioch 1988 32 Year Old is an exceptionally rare Highland single malt and the inaugural release in Càrn Mòr's prestigious Family Reserve series from Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. Distilled in October 1988 and matured for 32 years in a single bourbon barrel, this remarkable whisky was bottled in August 2021 after being personally selected by Chairman Brian Morrison, whose family owned Glen Garioch during the 1980s. It is presented in a beautifully crafted wooden display box, befitting its rarity and significance.
The extended bourbon cask maturation has created an elegant and complex whisky, balancing vibrant vanilla, honey, orchard fruits, and citrus with layers of polished oak, gentle spice, and subtle herbal notes. Decades of ageing have added exceptional depth and refinement, while preserving the distinctive character of Glen Garioch's spirit from an era when the distillery was celebrated for its traditional in-house malting and lightly peated style.
A true collector's piece, this historic Family Reserve bottling offers a rare opportunity to experience a whisky with both exceptional maturity and a unique connection to the Morrison family's legacy at Glen Garioch.
