Bowmore White Sands 17 Year Old is a refined Islay single malt released as part of Bowmore's exclusive Travel Retail trilogy, inspired by the island's stunning natural landscapes. Named after Islay's pristine white beaches, this elegant expression was matured exclusively in bourbon casks, creating a beautifully balanced whisky that combines Bowmore's signature coastal peat smoke with rich vanilla sweetness. Bottled at 43% ABV, it is also said to be a favourite of the Bowmore Distillery Manager.
The bourbon cask maturation brings generous notes of creamy vanilla, toffee, and rich treacle, perfectly complementing aromas of gentle peat smoke and sea breeze. The palate is smooth and rounded, with layers of sweet malt, toasted oak, subtle citrus, and maritime salinity, leading to a long, softly smoky finish.
