Bowmore No.1 is a beautifully balanced Islay single malt that brings together the distillery’s signature coastal peat smoke with the creamy sweetness of American oak. Named after Bowmore’s legendary No.1 Vaults, one of Scotland’s oldest maturation warehouses, this expression pays tribute to the heritage of Islay’s oldest working distillery, established in 1779.

Matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon casks, Bowmore No.1 develops a wonderfully smooth and approachable character, with sweet vanilla, honeyed malt and fresh citrus complemented by gentle peat smoke and subtle maritime notes. The bourbon cask influence creates a delicate balance between sweetness and smoke, resulting in an elegant and satisfying Islay whisky.

Introduced in 2017 as the successor to Bowmore Small Batch, No.1 became an accessible introduction to the distillery’s distinctive style.
