Annandale Man O’ Sword Rare Vintage 2014 Cask #106 is a rare peated Lowland single malt from one of just 85 casks produced during a pivotal year for the revived Annandale Distillery. Bottled at just over three years old, this release captures the historic moment when Annandale’s spirit officially became Single Malt Scotch Whisky for the first time in over 100 years.
Matured in an ex-bourbon cask, the whisky balances youthful vibrancy with impressive complexity and character. Soft peat smoke intertwines with notes of toasted biscuit and Darjeeling tea, before opening into layers of nectarine, melon, and mango. Creamy vanilla, honey, and burnt orange develop alongside subtle resinous wood, leading into a long finish with lingering smoke and leather.
Founded in 1836 and revived in 2007, Annandale Distillery is known for producing both peated “Man O’ Sword” and unpeated “Man O’ Words” expressions, crafted using traditional copper pot stills and bold Lowland spirit character.
