Aberfeldy 2013 13 Year Old – Strictly Limited (Càrn Mòr) is an exceptional Highland single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled as part of the highly regarded Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited collection. Distilled at Aberfeldy in 2013 and matured for 13 years entirely in red wine casks, this distinctive expression offers a wonderfully fruit-forward interpretation of the distillery's naturally honeyed character, with just 598 bottles produced worldwide.
Unlike whiskies that receive only a brief wine cask finish, this release has undergone full maturation in red wine casks, allowing the influence of the wood to develop throughout its 13 years of ageing. The result is a beautifully layered single malt, combining Aberfeldy's signature honeyed sweetness with rich red berries, stewed plums and indulgent plum jam.
Notes of golden honey, buttery biscuits and ripe summer fruits are complemented by gentle oak spice and a pleasantly drying finish. Bottled at 49.2% ABV, this limited-edition release offers a generous depth of flavour while retaining the elegance and balance associated with mature Highland whisky.
With only 598 bottles released globally, including just 180 allocated to the UK, Aberfeldy 2013 is a particularly appealing expression for collectors and enthusiasts seeking unusual cask maturations. It perfectly reflects Càrn Mòr's commitment to showcasing the individuality of carefully selected casks and the diversity of Scotland's single malt whiskies.
