Glenburgie 10 Year Old Big Brother is a distinctive single malt from the rarely seen Speyside distillery, independently bottled by Na Bràithrean—Scottish Gaelic for "The Brothers." Matured for 10 years in a refill bourbon hogshead before receiving a unique finish in a Pinot Noir ex-Islay cask, this small-batch release offers an intriguing combination of elegant fruit, gentle smoke, and Speyside character. Bottled at 50% ABV, it is presented in its natural form with natural colour and no chill filtration.
The unusual cask combination creates a layered and complex profile, with sweet vanilla, orchard fruits, and red berry notes from the bourbon and Pinot Noir influence, complemented by subtle maritime peat smoke inherited from the ex-Islay cask. Gentle spice, soft oak, and a delicate earthy character add further depth, leading to a long, balanced finish.
A creative and limited independent bottling, this release showcases Glenburgie's refined spirit through an innovative maturation that will appeal to adventurous whisky enthusiasts.
