Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 3

Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 3 is the third annual limited-edition release in the distillery’s cask strength series, bottled straight from the cask without added water to capture the whisky in its purest form. Matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry butts and ex-Islay peated casks, this release marks the first time Lochlea has introduced peat into the series.

Carefully selected by Master Blender Jill Boyd, the whisky balances rich sherried depth with an unexpected smoky twist. The nose opens with ripe red fruits and savoury BBQ smoke, while the palate reveals layers of cherries, dark molasses, ginger cake, toasted rye, and charred wood smoke.

Bottled at a robust 59.8% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring, the finish is long and complex with baking spice, salty smoke, oak tannins, and delicate floral notes of red rose.
