Caperdonich 30 Year Old is an exceptionally rare Speyside single malt from a lost distillery, making it an increasingly desirable release for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Matured for three decades in first-fill American white oak barrels and bottled in 2019 at a natural cask strength of 51.1% ABV, this whisky represents some of the last remaining spirit from Caperdonich before the distillery closed permanently in 2011.
Once quietly producing elegant Speyside malt whisky, Caperdonich has since become highly sought after due to its scarcity and the dwindling availability of mature stock. Releases of this age and quality are now increasingly uncommon.
The extended maturation delivers a richly layered profile, with aromas of dried and stewed fruits, malt, and gentle savoury notes, followed by flavours of chocolate, floral honey, and subtle coal smoke on the palate. The American oak maturation adds balance, softness, and depth throughout.
