In making Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour.
This whisky is a perfect example of the style of Laphroaig, with a golden-amber color, rich aromas of smoked malt, iodine and spices and a powerful and dry mouth, with a very marine finish. It is suggested to enjoy alone, adding 25% of water.
