Tamdhu distillery is a single malt Scotch Speyside whisky distillery, located in the village of Knockando in Banffshire, Scotland. The name Tamdhu derives from Gaelic for "little dark hill". Founded in 1896, the first malt whisky was distilled and casked in 1897 using sherry casks from the finest bodegas in Spain. Now over 125 years later, Tamdhu still matures its whisky from beginning to end exclusively in the finest American and European Oloroso sherry casks. Tamdhu’s dedication to 100% sherry cask oak maturation, lends its whiskies exquisite fruit flavour intensity with notes of apple, apricot, and spiced currants (to name just a few).
